Volunteer gardeners
The Volunteer Gardeners, otherwise known as the ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful Ground Force’ meet about twice a month, usually on a Saturday, by prior arrangement.

No gardening experience or knowledge is required, just a willingness to muck in!
These are the kinds of things we spend our time doing:

Digging up a dead root and levelling ground;

Cutting back/digging up some very old and tired Euonymus to make way for some new planting;

After a cold rose pruning day, when we pruned all the roses in the churchyard;

Planting bulbs;

After planting and mulching a new bed;

We also spend time removing cable ties and rubbish from around the railings.

We weed paths and flower beds.
-
We gather and sort seeds.
-
During the hot summer, we have also spent a lot of time watering our young plants.

We welcome donations towards the work in the garden, to go towards

new trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs

-new gardening tools and repair of old tools

-compost and mulch
Remember that the labour in the garden is provided entirely by volunteers and is free.
