Giving to Great St Mary's

The Parish Giving Scheme

The Parish Giving Scheme is a national scheme to enable individuals to give regularly, safely and simply, with minimal administrative effort for the parish. Gift Aid is collected by PGS and sent to the parish on a monthly basis.

Gifts made through this scheme use a Direct Debit. If you are a taxpayer, the PGS is able to reclaim the Gift Aid for our church. It is also easy to protect your donation from erosion by inflation if you choose; the PGS will calculate the effect of inflation on our behalf and notify you each year in advance, to ask if you are happy to increase your gift by the cost of living.

There are three easy and secure ways to set up your donation through the PGS. You can set up your Direct Debit online, fill in a gift form at church, or call and be taken through the process step by step.

The team at PGS make it safe and easy for you to give and just as safe and easy for our church to receive, easing the administration burden for treasurers and church volunteers. The scheme is secure, confidential and easy to use.

We encourage regular givers to use this scheme and invite you to pick up a Parish Giving Scheme pack at the back of church, or please email office@gsm.cam.ac.uk or phone 01223 747273 for us to post you a copy.

Giving Online

Giving online is the simplest method, and you can do so via our online donation page. However, if you're able to give directly by bank transfer or standing order, we do save on processing fees:

Please include your surname and initials in the reference, and be sure to let us know at giving@gsm.cam.ac.uk so that we can easily identify your payment.

Setting up a Standing Order

If you would like to set up a Standing Order from your bank account, or increase your standing order, you can use this form. If you decide to give in this way, please do let us know at giving@gsm.cam.ac.uk

Gift Aid

If you are a UK taxpayer, we can receive a further 25% on your donation from the Government at no extra cost to you. If we do not already have a Gift Aid form from you, please fill in the Gift Aid form at this link and send it to us, preferably by e-mail to giving@gsm.cam.ac.uk
