Sound Centres

As an American, spending the week in coversation with University, civic, and ecclesiastical authorites about Prince Philip has been educational, to say the least. And doing so from the position of a Christian minister rather than a loyal subject has been an opporutnity for reflection.

Whatever our station in life, whatever our privilages, earned and unearned, we are called as Christians to live lives of service, faithfulness, and commitment.

May our communities — our University, our colleges, our city; our families and our communities of faith — likewise be such lively centres for sound learning, new discovery, and the pursuit of wisdom; and may those who teach and those who learn find in the wonders of the deep and the wideness of the world, hopeful signs of God's abiding wisdom and compassionate love.
