Wider Concerns Easter Envelope Collection

Cambridge Women’s Aid – supporting women and their children who are victims of domestic abuse, providing safe refuge and one-to-one professional help. Following Government funding cuts, the County Council has reluctantly cut their grant. Sadly, domestic abuse has significantly increased, exacerbated by the pandemic. Helping women come through a dark period and make a fresh start, resonates with the death and resurrection theme of Easter.

Christian Blind Mission (CBM) – to facilitate cataract surgery in Rwanda and also train health-care workers to identify and help people who need it before they go completely blind and become dependent.  Donations made by 29 April will be doubled through matched funding.  Opening eyes so people can see also resonates with the message of Easter, and the area of Rwanda referred to is near Kigali with which the Ely Diocese has a special link.
